Illustration Friday: 1 : Remember when our children were young?
This is a post resulting from one of my memories. It was dug up from my personal archives. I wanted to share this...
My daughter, a moment in time captured,... me... now remembering, her, in this poignant moment . She was remembering something that didnt quite make her happy while all dressed up to go onstage.
This was done with a light acrylic wash and chalk pastel.

it is a great painting and a great expression. she seems to be a strong-minded person?
Lovely painting of your daughter, nicely done.
Nice drawing, where did those cute little kids go?
Gorgeous work and so touching...
Lovely color, and you really caught an enigmatic expression on the child's face. Well done!
You really captured this awkward moment, especially in the facial expression.
Very nice work! You really captured a mood here.
very nice painting! i can feel her emotion. well done.
Oh, oh! Someone's in a closed and sulky mood. Janice, you've captured the expression perfectly. An interesting mix of medium as well. I look forward to your next posting.
Nice! Intence and sweet. Really makes me want to know what's on her mind, and I like the colors, especially her hair.
Beautiful and moody. Reminds me of my own daughter who is now 30.
Very sweet. Lovely piece, Janice.
Very sweet. My son's only nine, but whenever I think about him, the line "And then one day you find/ ten years have got behind you" from Pink Floyd's "Time" comes to mind!
nice soft painting!
captures a true reflective quality!
Deep and powerful! It draws my in...
You've captured her thoughts beautifully - excellent stuff.
