Illustration Friday : Polar 1of 2: Lots of polars... you pick..

This piece has a bunch of meanings... to me.. I tend to like those illustrations that speak on different levels. First off, I started with the thought polar then went to the poles and the weather, bounced on towards bi-polar, (the tendency to have ups and downs...) and then of course, there is the magnetic pull kind of polar.. where one turns the other away... (ok.. the last was a reach... but... (grin) its there "if" you want to see it... (It is there!)or maybe its just "the cold shoulder!".. and AND finally there is the south pole and the> FOUR < lovely little critters from that region... There is some tweaking I will still do.. but this piece will remain pretty much as is! So ..... Please tell me what you think... your comments inspire me and open my eyes... Thankyou for visiting...

I like this! And I liked hearing about your thought process! It reminded me of me, a bit. Balancing the analytical and the creative! That is my curse! Or is it a gift?

Thank you for your comment. I'm always so appreciative of real critiques and you've definitely inspired me to take this to the next level. Hope you're feeling better. (Ah, those spring colds, the're awful aren't they?

Frosty colors, polar opposites, and that gear-like thing all make this very interesting. I like it.

Thanks for your comments on my illo, loved the variability that this word evoked. And love your post, great penguins on the seesaw - very inventive.

Janice, I enjoy reading about the thought process you went through, before coming up with the final illustration; very interesting. Keep those penguins in balance, and I hope you feel better soon (I hear Spring is on the way out east). Thanks for visiting my posting.

The effect is dreamy. It feels like it's snowing, without looking like snow at all.

Nice work.

Hahahaha, okay, I read "and then of course, there is the magnetic pull kind of polar." and I could only see the very top of the illo and I was imagining their butts locked together like magnets!

Are those seals in your penguins? Shouldn't the penguins be in the seals?

Great illo. Possibly the best penguins out of all of us. :)
