Illustration Friday: 1 :Citrus, All sewn up!

I was thinking of citrus and considered what I might submit this week.. and it came to me to do something about fruit blends .. My first thought was the physical nature of grafting the branch of one tree to another, purpose being? ,the making of a unique fruit.... I am not a gardener.... so this is my own particular answer to the problem... of a Special citrus blend...orange and lemon...? You just find half of each.. sew em together and voila!
Done on handmade paper with chalk pastel, sewing thread...and YES I sewed through the paper ...and needle.> The frame is peel.

Thankyou for all the comments. You keep me testing my mettle...!

What a brilliant idea! And yes, done really well too! The stitching is that great touch of genius. I like how you left the needle there! And the multicolored shadow...awesome. You rock.

Ummm....the thought of an orangy lemon sounds delicious. What a wonderful idea, if only it were that simple to sew two fruits together and get one. I love this, a wonderful picture just right for my kitchen walls. Terrific job!:>
