Illustration Friday: Blanket: Bedtime Memories: 1 of 2

acrylic on canvas... this piece brings back the moments of childhood... bedtimes... and blankets, scarey shadows and the hiding place under that protective covering!!!

A wonderfully warm and buttery painting for the IF theme this week, Janice. Quick now! Under those covers! :)

The bed looks very comfortable and I agree, it was always a source of comfort and feeling of security. In fact as a grown up, I love being under the covers especially on cold nights, at least the scary shadows are not gigantic anymore. Very nice shadow rendering.

I can feel the warmth coming into this room. Even that little "monster" couldn't chase the comfort away!
Thanks for stopping by. Nice to "see you" again!

You've really captured that childhood abhorence of the dark and the desire for the glowing light! Emotionally compelling and beautiful!

Ah yes. Childhood. When blankets ruled the world. Or something. Really like the use of color and shadows. Great job.

Beautiful coloring! And, you're right about blankets having the "power" to protect and shield us from unpleasant things.

This is great Janice.....! Blazing hearths crackle with primal energy ...... wood smoke filled nostrils..... no sneaky monsters dare enter.... so long as the fire bath fills the room in light, chasing back dark shadows..... BE the light .... Ignore dancing shadows ..... Absorb, Radiate back, Good will triumph........ come morning. JN
