Illustration Friday: Open and shut.

Keeping an OPEN mind.

The idea is that, inside we can become very barren and introspective but 'When' one remembers to open ones eyes and look outside oneself, its funny how the world has a lot more colour and life. Hope you are enjoying your day... :)
Acrylic.. 20x20.....

I want to thank everyone for their comments... Yes.. this is going to be part of a series... it started with the dark pictures and seems to be evolving with the florals on the borders. The next one that Im working on, has not a cat in it though, but a cow! ... I have a friend who has cats and has been taking random cat pictures.. so if you have any animal pictures... and dont mind me using them as a reference in a painting.. feel free to forward them to me! I didnt really decide on whether to make this child a girl or a boy.. its an age where sex almost seems to cross boundaries.. so it seemed irrelevent. Im happy that the sense of serenity and warmth is coming across, in contrast to the coolness of the window, because that is what I was concentrating on. I do think.. I might revisit this... later on... For you who do painting.. sometimes one can be too close to it and you need a breath to look at it with good judgement. So again thankyou.. and your comments are indeed inspiring.. and looked forward to.
sincerely Janice

Wow, this really draws me in. I like how the subject is every day but you've portrayed it like a dreamy fairytale like world. Wonderful!
