Illustration Friday : Polar 1of 2: Lots of polars... you pick..

This piece has a bunch of meanings... to me.. I tend to like those illustrations that speak on different levels. First off, I started with the thought polar then went to the poles and the weather, bounced on towards bi-polar, (the tendency to have ups and downs...) and then of course, there is the magnetic pull kind of polar.. where one turns the other away... (ok.. the last was a reach... but... (grin) its there "if" you want to see it... (It is there!)or maybe its just "the cold shoulder!".. and AND finally there is the south pole and the> FOUR < lovely little critters from that region... There is some tweaking I will still do.. but this piece will remain pretty much as is! So ..... Please tell me what you think... your comments inspire me and open my eyes... Thankyou for visiting...

Illustration Friday: Fortune : Fortune For You?©

As the word this week came up... I couldn't get this image out of my minds eye... So, I had to get it down. The intoxicating lure of knowing what ones fortune might be.... So.. I worked on making "my" gypsy the all-knowing.... seducing the unwary to see into her crystal ball.
This is done with acrylic and pencil-crayon, on artboard... I'm leaving it as is, sort of fading out into pencil at the feet..

Thankyou for comments... I'm learning new things.. and certainly am encouraged and enlightened by the words you leave behind.

Illustration Friday 2 of 2 Green: The early bird.©

This is something new I'm trying...(a new approach). I must have been inspired by the National Audubon Society or it was just looking outside and seeing a Robin and knowing spring and GREEN is on its way !

Zooming out, with more space, framing the subject (my original choice) makes this into more of a graphic piece

Illustration Friday 1 of 2 Green: Green with Envy©

This piece was constructed using pen and ink and then taken into photoshop. There were, about a thousand variables with applying the printed words. (I of course saved em all) and that means ( my poor computer is now pokey) The result I was happiest with is shown here, because of the shape of the figure.(its got a meaner curve). In another piece I really liked the concept of dealing with the envy in your inner self...(at least thats how it spoke to me). I appreciate any feedback, insights or comments and thankyou in advance, to everyone, who comes to visit my blog and leaves a comment!!!! They are treasured. :)

illustration Friday Snap 2 of 2©

I wanted to execute a figure, with a touch of fun... thinking of snapping a 'persons' suspenders'.

This second piece was done with pencil crayons and photoshop. I actually had a full figure of a male mime off to the side.. but decided to simplify and focus more on the action.

Illustration Friday Snap 1 of 2©

This piece is a collage, mixed media. The frog is a photo I clipped, and the alligator is pencil, chalk, ect.
I like pieces in illustration friday that make me consider a story or lead me to create one in my mind... and I believe this one might do so. and also have multiple levels of meaning. musing.. like Magrittes Pipe!

It is a bit of an April Fools piece, and later I might just make part of the alligator 3-d as though he were reaching out of the page towards the little frog. Please leave comments, even suggestions... , they are so motivating. I have another idea on the burner, and another style... but first Bed.

Spy 2of2: Spy cat illustration©

This cat was a joy to construct. It was partly collage, part digital. My computer actually froze and I lost a lot of work but
managed to skip the exploring steps as I knew exactly what I was aiming for. The reason for my subject? Not sure about you but cats seem to be born to spy and slink and are ever watchful and curious. Comments are appreciated and please take a gander at my other Illustration friday submission for "spy".

Spy 1of2: Spy©

Simplicity is the key here. I considered the spy... the way they fade in and out
of sight. Some of my lines also disappear in an effort to be a bit more unrestrained. Of course I could not resist a dash of colour. Please click on the image to see it larger and please feel free to leave comments. They are a way for me, to both grow and be encouraged.

I have another spy submission.. please have a look see. :)
